Nate Oats, Alabama Men’s Basketball Coach, Extends to 2026-27

The school’s coach for men in Alabama, Nate Oats, has agreed to an extension of the contract by the end of the 2026-27 season, the school announced Thursday.

Oats also received an annual salary increase to $ 3.225 million.

The Tide had a ten-game winning streak earlier in the season.

Athletic director Greg Byrne has hired Oats to replace Avery Johnson after the 2018-19 season. Oats have spent the previous four years in Buffalo, leading the Bulls to three NCAA tournaments and two first-round wins.

“We had high expectations when we hired Coach Oats,” Byrne said. “He has exceeded expectations, and we want to ensure that he is compensated below the top half of the SEC. We have introduced buyout measures that show the long – term commitment between both parties.

Alabama led 16-15 in the Oats’ first season at the helm.
