The full-time driver of the World Champion truck series has fought to start her first cup series and become the first woman to participate in the series since Danica Patrick retired from NASCAR in 2018.

Drivers who want to race in the cup series are judged by the “NASCAR CV Committee, which will determine whether the driver is approved for competition.”

This also applies to anyone who has not participated in the series for more than one year.

The 47-year-old Cobb started 217 Truck Series and 31 in the second tier Xfinity Series, the last of the latter to arrive in Talladega in 2018.

Cobb did not comment on the decision, but the team she was planning to drive for, Rick Ware Racing, said ‘it’s an unfortunate situation, but as a team we support NASCAR’s decision to maintain rules and regulations of the sanctioning institutions (sp). “

Primary sponsorship for Cobb’s entry is secured from Arrowhead Brass’ plumbing supply.

Cobb will drive for her own team in the Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway on May 1st.
