The astronauts working on the International Space Station (ISS) have some of the best views of our planet we can imagine. Thousands of photos are taken of the view every year, but which is NASA’s favorite?
The people at the Earth and Science Remote Sensing Unit in NASA’s Johnson Space Center have selected their 20 best preferred photos taken in 2020, shared from the Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth. There are hundreds and hundreds of truly breathtaking images that are worth looking at, but below are NASA’s top picks of the past year.
After the last year, it is especially calming to just look at the beauty of the earth from above.

All the photos were taken with a Nikon D4 or Nikon D5 and a number of different focal points. It is interesting to see the different perspectives of the ISS, depending on the focal length chosen by the photographer. For more such photos, current ISS astronaut Soichi Noguchi is uploading photos he has taken from the space station since joining the crew late last year.
