Critics blamed Biden for the crisis – noting his decision to end Trump’s border policies and his proposal to create a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

Meanwhile, Biden’s government blames former President Trump.

Biden’s secretary of home security, Alejandro Mayorkas, warned last month that the border could see more migrants than ever in the past 20 years.

But Biden later downplayed the concern, saying it was normal to see an increase in migrants between January and March.
