Naomi Judd says daughter Ashley Judd ‘could have been dead’ after a catastrophic ‘accident:’ It was very serious’

Naomi Judd said her daughter, actress Ashley Judd, could ‘die’ after an accident last month that left the artist with a broken leg.

“It was very serious – she could die,” “Ruby” actress (75) told talk show host Kelly Clarkson on Thursday. “She survives. She is very brave. She can not get out of bed [yet]. “

Ashley Judd, 52, sustained critical injuries to her leg when she stumbled over a fallen tree during a visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo in February where she visited an endangered bonobo monkey.

It took rescue teams about 55 hours to transport the actress ‘Double Jeopardy’ across unforgivable territory from the DRC to South Africa after Judd suffered internal bleeding as well as severe nerve damage.
