Najee Harris hurdles over Notre Dame defender in Rose Bowl after Megan Rapinoe told him

Mission emphatically reached.

In the semifinal of the Rose Bowl in the College Football playoff game between No.1 Alabama and Notre Dame no. 4 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Harris did exactly that and jumped over a fighting Irish defender in the first quarter.

The reason for Rapinoe’s request? Harris said at a Rose Bowl press conference on Tuesday that he was looking up to the American soccer star.

Harris is known to have celebrated after recording a touch with his outstretched arms, such as Rapinoe’s goal celebrations during the 2019 FIFA World Cup for women in France.

Here’s what Harris had to say about Rapinoe when he spoke to reporters this week:

“Megan is going crazy,” Harris said. ‘She’s from California first and listens to Nipsey. Nipsey Hussle, also one of my favorite rappers. She gave him a shout.

“Really all the things she stands up for. She’s a feminist and how women, how women in the world are treated unfairly and how they pay other and other things as men.

“She stands up for all things. I like how she does it. And of course, the social injustice that is there plays a role in all of that. And that she has to be a woman and can do all those things. says, and it can be scary for her, because she’s a woman’s wife in what they’ll say, and that she’s just playing a role, getting up, not listening to all the nayers out there, and actually just getting up For what she believes in, it’s motivating.

“I as a man, I think you can say, like maybe not too many men would say that they look up to a woman these days. But I really look up to her, just for what she does outside of sports. And I think I had to give her a shout and stuff. ‘

Rapinoe responded to Harris’ comments on Twitter, saying “someone hates me!”

Alabama defeated Notre Dame 31-14 and advanced to the national championship game.
