An admiration theory about an important scene in the 1994 Disney movie The Lion King ruined childhood on TikTok.
The dark theory suggests that Scar, the villain of the film, eats his brother Mufasa after killing him. The scene begins with Scar pushing Mufasa to his death and ends with Simba resembling his father’s body. After Simba walks away, it is never explained what happens to Mufasa’s carcass.
This is where TikTok user Christian Jones comes in. While watching the movie, he asked himself what happened to Mufasa’s body, and during his research he found that although lions usually have no natural predators, they will sometimes eat each other.
Jones backs up his theory through another scene in The Lion King where Scar is seen playing with a skull that could probably be Mufasa’s. Jones even googles images of lion skulls, which look strange like the ones in the cartoon.
“My whole childhood was ruined,” said one person. “I can actually cry.”
“It’s getting a lot darker now,” another added.
“WHAT’S IN THE CIRCLE OF LIFE,” someone else said.
Others quickly pointed out that the skulls were not enough to be convincing (apparently there exists a TikTok community of some kind), but users were mostly shocked that they never thought about the aftermath. of Mufasa’s death.
In fact, hyenas can sometimes eat lions, especially if they are dead – because of course it’s free food. Plus, since The Lion King based on Hamlet, there had to be an image of a skull somewhere in the movie.
