MTA worker suspended after shouting ill to attend riot at Capitol

A Metro North worker has called for sickness to be part of the mob that stormed the US capital – and he was suspended amid an FBI investigation into his role, The Post has learned.

Will Pepe, a worker at Metro-North’s Brewster Railway, is being investigated for participating in the mob that stopped Congress short when he confirmed the election of President-elect Joe Biden, the MTA confirmed.

Pepe, 31, of Beacon, NY, called sick Wednesday to attend the event, an MTA source said. He was suspended without pay because the agency wanted to fire him.

“This individual was immediately released without pay from the Metro North and will be disciplined according to their collective terms pending an investigation,” MTA spokesman Ken Lovett said in a statement.

“This alleged behavior is heinous and contradicts the values ​​of Metro North, New York and the country.”
