MSNBC host Joe Scarborough fought a strange battle on Tuesday, accusing his critics of equating riots in cities in the United States last year with the deadly uprising on the Capitol on January 6 and even saying he had a “taco stance with the American Capitol “would not be confused. “

“The Capitol of the United States of America is the center of American democracy. And although I have a strong belief in people’s right to defend their private property, I’m not going to confuse a taco position with the American Capitol. “I’m not going to confuse the sale of tacos with a constitutional process set forth in the United States Constitution for members of the House and Senate to perform their constitutional duties. Scarborough then tried to fend off further criticism by claiming that he opposed all political violence.

Racially charged riots have damaged urban landscapes throughout 2020, as the country has degenerated into economic devastation due to the coronavirus pandemic and calls to address racial injustices and police brutality. According to a report last year, the violence would cost more than $ 1 billion in insurance claims, and at least 25 deaths were linked to the civil unrest.

Former Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden condemned last year’s violence, but running mate Kamala Harris raised a fund to save rioters, and some Democrats and media members defended or justified the riots last year to some extent.
The riot in the Capitol, which involved at least five deaths, received double condemnation and called for speedy justice against those who violated the building and committed any acts of violence.

Former President Donald Trump has been charged with inciting violence for his rhetoric that led to the attack, which includes his false, repeated allegations that he actually won the 2020 election.
