During the television competition, Jurie takes De Silva’s crown and places it on the runner-up, asking De Silva to step off the stage. However, in a Facebook post about the incident, De Silva noted that although she is divorced, she is “a woman who is not divorced” and therefore feels the crown was taken improperly and ‘insultingly’ from her.

Ajith Rohana, police spokesperson, said earlier that the police had received a complaint from De Silva that his head was injured.

Rohana said Jurie and a model, Chula Padmendra, were arrested on Thursday on charges of ‘simple wounded and criminal force’ and were later released on bail. The two women were ordered to appear in court on April 19.
