Police found Caroline Jurie, the winner of Mrs. World 2020, arrested after she allegedly shot another contestant during the beauty pageant for Mrs. Sri Lanka injured.

During the ceremony, which was broadcast on national TV, Jurie, who Mrs. Sri Lanka won in 2019 and won the Madame world title, winning the crown of the winner of Pushpika De Silva in 2021. Jury claims that De Silva could not win Sri Lanka because she was divorced.

The organizer of the competition and De Silva later confirmed that she is still married. De Silva also reported on Facebook about the incident, saying she suffered pain on her skull when the crown was ripped from her head and treated for injuries, according to BBC News.

De Silva also said she would take legal action for the ‘unreasonable and insulting’ way she is being treated.

After taking the crown, Jurie placed it on the first runner’s head, but De Silva has now been crowned again, organizers of the competition said. They also expect Jurie to apologize publicly.
