A new commercial for Mountain Dew Zero Sugar features the return of Gremlins’ Gizmo, as well as the original film’s star, Zach Galligan.
A new ad for Mountain Dew Zero Sugar contains the return of Gremlins star Zack Galligan as well as the Mogwai Gizmo.
In the ad, Galligan’s Billy Peltzer is offered to share a bottle of Mountain Dew Zero Sugar with Gizmo before being told to be careful. However, Gizmo completely wastes Dew on himself – and soon after, Mogwai starts appeasing him. The ad ends with the appearance of Billy’s daughter, featuring a Mogwai of her own.
The first time in 1984, Gremlins was a critical and commercial success that led to the continuation of 1990 Gremlins 2: The New Batch. A third film has never appeared, though Chris Columbus has been working on his own version of the screenplay for years.
The Gremlins will be back in the HBO Max animated series soon Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. Suggest the events of the first Gremlins film, it follows Sam Wing – the future owner of the store where Billy finds Gizmo in the first film – and Gizmo as they battle an evil industrialist and his army of Gremlins. The series boasts a starring cast, including Ming-Na Wen (The Mandalorian) and BD Wong (Jurassic World) as Sam’s parents.
