Mother in ‘riot duo’ is now charged with conspiracy in the siege of the Capitol

The mother of a Tennessee man accused of wearing zip ties in the U.S. Capitol is charged with conspiring with her son during the violent siege.

The FBI arrested Lisa Eisenhart, 56, on Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee on charges of conspiracy, unlawful entry into a restricted building and violent entry or disorderly conduct for allegedly breaking into the Capitol on January 6.

Her son Eric Munchel – who was photographed fastening zippers and carrying paramilitary equipment in the Capitol – was arrested on January 10 on similar charges.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of Tennessee announced the mother’s arrest on Twitter, along with a photo of the mother-son duo showing Eisenhart wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat and a black tactical vest. Munchel can be seen dressed in black.

The complaint alleges that Eisenhart, like her son, wore ‘flex flex’ or ‘plastic restraints’ while she and Munchel joined a crowd of rioters who chased after two police officers.

“Video footage from inside the U.S. Capitol captures Eisenhart and Munchel in the vicinity of a crowd of individuals physically attacking two Capitol police officers guarding the Senate Halls,” the law enforcement said.

‘The footage eventually shows officers running past Eisenhart and Munchel, chasing several members of the mob. “Just after they have passed, Eisenhart and Munchel immediately follow the individuals who are pursuing the officers,” it is said.

“Munchel and Eisenhart are seen holding handcuffs in each of their hands,” the complaint continued.

Christopher Wray, director of the FBI, said Thursday that more than 100 people have been arrested in the Capitol Hill attack in which five people were killed, and more than 200 suspects have been identified.
