Mossimo Giannulli was sentenced to five months in prison, but after 56 days in solitary confinement, he requested earlier release.
According to court documents filed by E! News, Lori Loughlin’s husband has submitted an emergency proposal to change his sentence. His lawyer specifically asked a judge to allow Mossimo the rest of his sentence at home, citing the circumstances of his detention.
According to his plea agreement, Mossimo was supposed to be quarantined among other minimum security prisoners, after which he would be transferred to a minimum security camp. However, his lawyer claims that Mossimo was placed in solitary confinement near prisoners of medium security 24 hours a day, even after testing negative for COVID-19 several times.
During his solitary time, Mossimo’s lawyer claims that he was allowed to leave his cell three times a week to shower, but that he was otherwise inside for meals. The lawyer also claims that he was only sporadically allowed to call his family.
