Mortal Kombat 11 gets a first / third person mod and it looks wild

Mortal Kombat 11 was never meant to be played in the first or third person, but what if it was?

Mortal Kombat 11 is probably on the list of games with an active modding scene, but every once in a while someone decides to come up with a wild idea.

We’ve seen camera mods before in NetherRealm’s latest version, offering a rare look at deaths and various stages from the corners, which were not meant to be seen.

Modder Ermaccer’s contribution is MK11Hook, a modding suite that lets you scratch around with the camera, speed up the game and more. MK11Hook is no different from MKXHook, a similar plugin that enables most of the same features, created by the same mud for Mortal Kombat 10.

The biggest advantage of inserting these plugins over standard cheat engines, is that it provides an in-game menu that you can use to quickly switch between states or cameras, without having to constantly bother with memory addresses.

One of the more obvious uses of MK11Hook is that you can change the perspective to first or third person in battles, which is achieved through a camera hack. It’s not the most polished first-person mod, but it’s fascinating to look at.

The video above runs through some of these perspectives, including first- and third-person. If you are curious, you can download the open source mod from Github.
