Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous’ Top Cards for the 10th Week Following Racial Slur Scandal

It seems his recent scandal has not hurt Morgan Wallen’s career.

The 27-year-old country star’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” spends its 10th week at the top of the Billboard 200 chart and only finds itself in the spot on January 23rd.

According to the music publication, “Dangerous” is the first album to achieve such a feat since 1987 – Whitney Houston’s “Whitney” spent 11 weeks at the top of the list – and it has earned the most weeks in first place since Drake spent. 13 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the list for his album “Views” in 2016.

Referring to MRC data, the store reports that Wallen’s album earned 69,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending March 11.

“Dangerous” is the only album to have spent its first ten weeks at the top of the charts, as previously “Whitney,” only Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life” achieved such an achievement and 13 weeks on the first place spent.

Adele’s “21” also earned ten consecutive weeks in the coveted lock in 2012. In total, the album spent 24 non-consecutive weeks at number one.

In addition, Wallen is only the fourth country artist to have had an album in the first place, with only Garth Brooks (“Ropin ‘the Wind”), Billy Ray Cyrus (“Some Gave All”) and Taylor Swift (“Fearless”). )) everyone did it too – even though all three spent more than ten weeks in the lock.

“Dangerous: The Double Album” was released on January 8, 2021, less than a month before the artist was caught on video with the n-word.

Wallen is expected to face a career setback of more than two years, thanks to the scandal, which was also dropped by his talent agency and the fact that his music was taken from some radio stations and is not eligible for the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards.

However, he has since seen an increase in album sales.

The singer revealed in a video message that he was 72 hours old when he used the n-word and that he took time to learn about his inappropriate use of the term.
