More than three-quarters of a million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Utah, and more than a quarter of a million Utahns have received the second dose of the vaccine. This is about 8.4% of the state’s population who received two doses.
Utah reported seven more deaths Wednesday; five of them occurred before February 10 and were only recently confirmed as coronavirus related. The state medical examiner determined that one of the deaths reported Monday – a man in Iron County, 65-84 years old – was not caused by COVID-19, and the man’s death was from the state. ‘s score removed.
Vaccinations administered in the past day / total vaccinations • 18,236 / 759,533.
Number of Utahns receiving two doses • 269,368.
Cases reported in the past day • 729.
Deaths reported in the past day • Seven.
Salt Lake County reported five deaths: a man and a woman between the ages of 45-64; a man and a woman 65-84; and a wife of 85 plus.
There were one deaths each in Box Elder and Washington counties, both men 65-84.
Hospitalizations reported in the past day • 212. This is one from Tuesday. Of those currently hospitalized, 92 are in intensive care units – the same as Tuesday.
Tests reported in the past day • 8,249 people were tested for the first time. A total of 21,267 people were tested.
Percentage of positive tests • According to the state’s original method, the rate is 8.8%. This is lower than the seven-day average of 10.2%.
The new method counts all test results, including repeated tests of the same individual. Wednesday’s rate is now at 3.4%, lower than the seven-day average of 4.8%.

Total to date • 372 708 sake; 1,949 deaths; 14,783 hospitalizations; 2,222,755 people were tested.
