More Texas voters have said they approve of President Joe Biden’s handling of COVID-19 than they did with the reactions of former President Donald Trump or current Gov. Greg Abbott.
A New University of Texas /Texas Tribune a poll of 1,200 registered voters found that 49 percent said they approve of the task Biden is doing to respond to COVID-19, and 36 percent say they do not approve.
Texas voters disapproved of Trump’s White House pandemic action, with 45 percent saying they supported his response and 48 percent saying they did not. Worse, 43 percent of Texans surveyed in October said they strongly disapproved of the work Trump was doing to curb the coronavirus.
Biden also performed slightly better than Abbott, who scored good points in April by a 56% majority of Texas voters.

Despite widespread divisions between Republicans and Democrats throughout the poll, a solid majority agreed on one thing: Congress is doing very poorly. GOP Texas Senator John Cornyn received approval for work from less than a third of respondents, while 42 percent of respondents said they do not approve of the work he does in office. A quarter said they were neutral or had ‘no opinion’.
Co-Republican Senator Ted Cruz scored a much higher 45 percent, but his recent controversial visit to Cancun, Mexico, according to the polls, was “not clear in voters’ polls.”
