A warning for a winter storm has been issued for much of Central New York, as according to the National Weather Service, 8 to 12 inches of snow is expected on Monday and Tuesday.
The warning was issued for parts of Onondaga, Oneida, Cayuga, Madison and Cortland counties. It is expected to run from 10:00 to Monday until 16:00.
About an inch of snow is expected on Monday, with heavier snow moving in Monday night and Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The National Weather Service stopped snowing late Tuesday morning or early Tuesday afternoon.
Forecasters for the National Weather Service said Central New York could see two winter storms this week, with the second a larger storm than the first.
