More Hitman coming – IO Interactive already looks to the future

IO Interactive is not done with Agent 47.

Hitman 3 may have been the end of a trilogy, but there will be more opportunities to drown NPCs in a toilet in the future.

Hitman 3 has just been released, but IO Interactive is still working on Agent 47’s next adventure. We spoke to executive producer Forest Swartout Large earlier today and asked if the end of Hitman 3 left the door open for the studio to return to the slaphead stalker.

“We are constantly working on Hitman, so we are already looking to the future,” Large said.

IO Interactive has several teams, one of which is working on a new James Bond game. The studio doubles its staff to a developer for multiple projects. IO is already hoping to turn its Bond series into a trilogy, which will feature a brand new Bond from the developer.

There is also still work to be done on Hitman 3 with patches after the launch and the other household pieces. And while IO is still trying to find its form, Hitman 3 will also get DLC – just do not expect new levels like the New York bank or the private island.

“We’m definitely going to do a little DLC, but we have not yet determined what it is,” Large explained. ‘I think for now we are not looking at new maps like the bank and the island.

“We’re looking more at using existing locations and distorting them again. And this time we can use the whole trilogy. We can look back at Hitman 2016 maps, Hitman 2 maps – we have all the locations . “

In other words, expect more escalation contracts and maybe limited time hits on your favorite places from the entire Hitman trilogy, all available from Hitman 3.

Hitman 3 was a huge success for IO. The sequel already made a profit a few days after the launch – the largest digital launch in the series’ history. Speedrunners are already stuck and finding ways to beat Hitman 3 levels in less than 20 seconds, making us all look like we’re bad at hitting the guy.
