Montana’s massive stack of 30 cars blames the icy bridge

Icy conditions on the Yellowstone River Bridge led to a congestion of 30 cars shortly before noon on Saturday afternoon, the Montana Highway Patrol said.

No deaths were reported, but two people were critically injured.

A section of Interstate-90 was closed because authorities took more than two hours to tow all the car accidents off the scene.

According to a traveler, a semi-truck hit her vehicle as she braked to avoid cars stopping in front of her, she told the Billings Gazette.

“It was like bumper cars,” she said.

It was about 30 degrees in Billings when the accident occurred.

One of the deadliest wrecks in several vehicles in recent memory occurred earlier this month when six people were killed and dozens injured in a pile of 133 cars in Fort Worth, Texas.
