Montana massive 30 cars stack up on icy bridge

Icy conditions on the Yellowstone River Bridge piled up to 30 cars shortly before noon on Saturday, the Montana Highway Patrol said.

No deaths were reported, but two people were seriously injured.

A section of I-90 was closed because authorities took more than two hours to tow all the struggling cars off the scene.

One traveler told the Billings Gazette that while she was braking to prevent cars from stopping in front of her, a semi-truck hit her vehicle.

“It was like bumpers,” she told the newspaper.

It was about 30 degrees in Billings when the accident occurred.

One of the deadliest wrecks in several vehicles in recent memory occurred earlier this month when six people were killed and dozens injured in a pile of 133 cars in Fort Worth, Texas.
