Monday is a first warning day due to the possibility of a winter mix

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A first warning day was issued on Monday 19 April due to the possibility of a winter mix.

After a nice spring day on Sunday, a strong cold front will move in from the north on Sunday evening to Monday. Behind this front, a mixture of rain and snow follows the example that moves from north to south through the WOWT lookout area on Monday. Precipitation is likely to move into the Omaha subway by noon.

Highs are likely to occur around midnight, and the temperature will drop during the rest of the day in the upper and thirties. Although the conditions are gloomy, with northerly gusts up to 30 km / h, the temperature above the freezing point should significantly limit the avalanche. Any snow that accumulates should be in grassy areas.

A stronger wave of snow will move in from the west Monday night until early Tuesday morning. This secondary wave is likely to come closer to the Kansas and Missouri borders. With a cold temperature overnight and heavier snow with this tire, our highest accumulations will occur in our southernmost provinces.
