Mocking the Mocks: Bucky Brooks makes the Bears take an offensive lineout

It seems like a common theme over the last few weeks, here’s another prominent cartoon that gives the Chicago Bears an offensive lineout with their 20th overall pick.

This latest mockery comes from Bucky Brooks of NFL.com and his choice for Chicago is Alijah Vera-Tucker of USC.

Here’s what Brooks had to say about the red shirt junior.

The USC product offers coach Matt Nagy the option to join the series as a wait / tackle to protect those who take on the Bears.

A short and sweet assessment for one of Bears’ biggest needs, and Vera-Tucker is the third offensive linebacker on his board. In the previous two spotters, we watched the Bears take the fifth o-lineman off the boards. Is Vera-Tucker, with only Oregon’s Penei Sewell and Northwestern’s Rashawn Slater off Brooks’ plate, the next best option here?

Our chief designer, Jacob Infante, has the 6’4 ”, 300 pounds as the 24th best prospect on his big board, his sixth best offensive line prospect and his number three keeper. Vera-Tucker played a left-handed suit in college, but several analysts believe he will be at stake.

I think tackle is a more urgent need for the Bears, and if they get offended in the first round, I would rather go with a guy who plans to tackle.

It is also noteworthy that Alabama quarterback Mac Jones was at 19 in this shocking draft, making it five times in his first round.

Would it be okay if the actual concept for the Bears fell like that?
