The Houston Astros and cheating, a game made it heaven. Just over a year after the news broke that MLB would launch an investigation into Houston for their use of video recordings, they went back and picked up news again.
To be honest, the Angels and many other players are making headlines as well. A former manager of the clubhouse in Anaheim mentioned several pitchers that he helped develop a means to use while throwing for a better grip. Former Astro Gerrit Cole and current Houston pitcher Justin Verlander were both named in the report by former Angels employee Brian Harkins.
In the report released by the LA Times, Harkins reveals a 2019 text message from Gerrit Cole, now with the Yankees. In the message, Cole Harkins asked for help in developing a new remedy that will not be changed by the cold weather. Harkins was fired by MLB after an investigation revealed he helped players cheat, dating back to the days of Troy Percival.

According to the article, Harkins was sued by MLB in March over the allegations. Either way, there was no public speech on the situation, no matter what Harkins claims. The allegations would make sense, given what players like Trevor Bauer have said about the Astros in the past.
The assertion would also make sense in terms of the career bows for both Cole and Verlander. Both guys had pretty drastic increases in the turning point, as well as overall success when they came from other teams to the Astros. For now, it remains a bold claim and that MLB will have to come under control.
