“We will never give up. We will not lose hope. We will bring Maya home. God is with us. We will move that mountain. We will find Maya.”
This is the message that Maricris Drouaillet, the sister of the missing California woman Maya Millete, sent during a prayer march and vigilance to family, friends and the Chula Vista community.
The 39-year-old mother of three disappeared from her home in Chula Vista more than three months ago, but the struggle to bring her home and bring her justice is growing stronger every day.
Maya family members kept Sunday’s vigilant in partnership with ‘Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People’, an activist group that raises awareness about the hundreds of women who go missing each year.
“It’s time to call the community together, and it’s time for everyone to stay together and stay in this fight. It’s time for the Chula Vista Police Department to act,” said Teyana Viscarra, who is leading a sprint to Mother Miquel Mountain for Maya led. Sunday morning, cheers from the crowd said.

Maya was born in the Philippines, grew up in Hawaii and led her adult life in Chula Vista, just south of San Diego.
She was last seen at her home on January 7 at about 5pm when she had an argument with her husband, Larry Millete.
Maricris Drouaillet on Sunday offered a pointed message to Maya’s husband, who did not assist Maya’s family in any search and stopped working on CVPD’s investigation in early February.
“To Larry and the Millete family: Maya has been part of your family for 21 years. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a friend, a supporter,” Drouaillet said Sunday.
“Now Maya, she’s nowhere to be found. 21 years does not go away overnight. She did not just get up, walk away and disappear into nothingness. She loved her children more in this world. For the last Since she went missing “You did not show empathy or concern for her for three months,” Drouaillet continued. “Help us bring your wife home. Help us bring your children’s mother home. “

A group of runners came to the top of Mother Miquel Mountain on Sunday morning during a prayer for Maya Millete.
Maya Millete asked for advice on divorce lawyers in a Facebook group for Chula Vista mothers around noon on the day she went missing. Later that day, she made an appointment with a divorce lawyer for the following week.
Larry Millete did not respond to a request for comment Sunday.
His father, Benito Millete, told KFMB-TV this week that his side of the family is waiting for Maya to come home.
“The speculation is Maya, she’s going alone, OK?” said the grandfather to the news office. ‘Maya’s family is looking for a body. We’re still waiting. ‘

A few days after Maya went missing, Larry Millete told San Diego’s KGTV TV that the couple ‘had problems with this year, up and down’.
Maya Millete issued an ominous warning about family and friends in the weeks before her disappearance, saying, “If anything happened to me, it would be Larry.”
According to Chula Vista police, there are currently no suspects or persons of interest in the case.

But Maya’s family says they will not give up.
“We will find answers, we will bring Maya home and serve justice,” Drouaillet said on Sunday’s vigilance.
