The Minnesota Department of Health has announced that it is taking action against two more pubs / restaurants that have reopened in violation of the state’s ban on service to reduce the spread of COVID.
The department has issued orders and notices regarding the suspension of liquor licenses against the Long Pine Store in Pine River and Jamieson’s on Main in Oslo.
The current ban on eating service applies until January 11, after the initial closure period was extended until the end of December 18 by Government Walz.
MDH says that during an inspection on December 18, Long Pine Store was opened for ‘liquor consumption’, with the strike and cessation and the notice of suspension of the license on December 24.

They join a growing list of institutions for which MDH, the Department of Public Safety in Minnesota, or the office of the Attorney General in Minnesota, has been applied.
“COVID-19 protocols are designed to slow the spread of this virus and reduce the impact of this pandemic,” said Dan Huff, MDH Assistant Commissioner.
“We prefer to always work with businesses to bring them into line, and we see regulatory action as a last resort. The vast majority of businesses are doing their best to slow down the spread of COVID-19, and we are. owe them a consistent and equitable enforcement approach. ”
