Julian Marquez’s back-to-back victory at UFC 258 was not the wildest thing that happened to him on Saturday.
“The Cuban Missile Crisis” has had enough of celebrating, returning from a long dismissal injury to achieve its first victory since December 2017 and doing so dramatically. Against Maki Pitolo, Marquez seems to be lying on the scorecards after two hard rounds, but he is in the third half from the third point to secure an anaconda choking, with only 43 seconds left.
In the run-up to his return, Marquez told the media he plans to step into a Miley Cyrus cover of the classic Blondie song. Heart of glass. His dedication to the pop star does not end there when he concludes his interview after the fight with a Valentine’s Day exclamation addressed to Cyrus.
“I had 31 months to put on this damn microphone and to call these people out right away,” Marquez said. “It’s my time to shine, so Miley Cyrus, will you be my Valentine?”
Sure enough, the message came to Cyrus and she responded on Twitter:
Shave a MC in your chest hair and I am YOURS Happy️ Happy VDay and congratulations!

“Shave an MC in your chest and I’s yours,” Cyrus wrote. “Happy VDay and congratulations!”
