Mikel Arteta left Martin Odegaard out of his Arsenal squad to take on Slavia Prague as a precautionary measure.
The Norwegian captain, who is on loan at Real Madrid, is struggling with a single problem that arose during the international break.
Odegaard played the full 90 minutes of Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat by Liverpool.
However, the forward did not fail a late fitness test before the Europa League clash and will not take part in the Emirates’ first game in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
Emile Smith Rowe, a youngster from Arsenal, will fill for the Norwegian and play the number 10 role.

And he will lead the Gunners’ front line alongside Willian, Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette.
Arteta is also without Kieran Tierney who will sit out the fight with a knee injury for the rest of the season.
The left wing was forced against Liverpool after suffering ligament damage.
In a statement, Arsenal confirmed: ‘Kieran suffered ligament damage to his left knee during Saturday’s game against Liverpool.
“Surgery is not necessary and it is hoped that Kieran will be back in full training within four to six weeks.”
