One of the sold-out Mustang Mach-E First Editions from 2021 – Ford’s first all-electric Mustang – arrived in Midland this week, with a local customer already driving it off the premises.
Chris Light, a longtime customer of Midland Ford Lincoln dealership in Midland, said he ordered the First Edition Mach-E a year ago. Although Ford did not state exactly how much initial expenses were made, it was reported that there is a worldwide limit of 50,000 for the first twelve months, explains Mark Lawson, a sales consultant.
Light and his wife Jackie Light already own a Mustang GT convertible for 2019. 5.0L V8 and have already owned hybrids. However, they joke that the Mach-E will now compensate for the carbon release of Chris’ other Mustang.
‘It actually comes down to long-term climate change and the balance between the situation. It’s a lot of fun – it’s total horsepower therapy, “Chris said of his GT. “But at the end of the day, you generally have to do the right thing.”
As Chris explains, he was attracted to the Mach-E, unlike other electric vehicles, for its affordable and logical features. He said he was looking forward to becoming ‘one’ with his new vehicle on the road.
‘This is the 21st century representation of what a Mustang should be and where it’s going. And it’s beautiful, ”Chris said.
He explained that if the vehicle had a different or new nameplate, he would not have had the same confidence to buy it. The fact that Ford used one of his most iconic nameplates on his new electric vehicle meant to Chris that he had to stay here; that Ford has made a serious investment in it.
The Mustang nameplate can be seen in the Mach-E’s taillights and the unmistakable emblem; however, the vehicle itself is a sport utility vehicle that looks very different from previous Mustangs. Although, the vehicle has 346 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque.
‘It flared up; it has history, ”Lawson said of the Mach-E.
And while Lawson already has one Mach-E sale on hand, he expects it won’t be the last for a long time.
“This thing is going to sell like crazy,” he said.
The first edition of Mach-E is cheap at $ 50,000, four-wheel drive and an extensive battery that can drive about 270 kilometers at a single charge.. The four-door vehicle has red-painted brake calipers, metal pedal covers, contrasting seat stitching and a first-edition slider.
It is the only all-electric vehicle from Ford that is in production, as the Focus Electric was retired in 2013 and only had a battery of about 80 miles. The Mach-E can join the largest charging network for electric vehicles in the world, and is a vehicle without emissions, which means that it does not emit any kind of waste product, like a traditional car.
Unlike the similar Telsa Model Y, the Mach-E is eligible for a federal tax credit.
Under the hood, of course, you will not find a gas engine, but rather extra storage space. The vehicle also has an infotainment system and a transparent air roof.
