Microsoft is releasing a $ 100 “Xbox Wireless Headset” on the heels of the latest X and S console series. With no shortage of options in the market, the new entrant wants to build on the success of Microsoft’s solid Surface headphones, albeit with a focus on captivating game sound and chat. The design also subtly emulates the black and green color of the new Xbox, so their wedding can not be missed.
Microsoft claims that it understands the Xbox Wireless protocol, the technology used to connect peripherals to its thin consoles, which means that the headset does not have problems with audio and voice problems. It also supports a range of spatial audio formats, including Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos and DTS headphones: X. The extra immersion through surround sound, object-based technology, is not only ideal for delivering virtual environments, it also helps you to identify where the enemy footsteps are coming from.
For voice quality, the headset uses dual beam-forming microphone elements, along with voice isolation to enhance background noise. An auto-mute feature is also included with a hand-mute button to keep your conversations clear when you stop talking. Updates are performed wirelessly from your console and you can pair the headphones with the Xbox Accessories app to further refine the sound.
As standard, the headset is also compatible with all major gaming platforms and devices, thanks to wireless and Bluetooth support. Plus, you can connect it to your phone and Xbox at the same time, so you can play and make a call at the same time.
Pre-orders for the Xbox Wireless Headset start today at 07:00 PST, with the official release date on March 16th.
