(Reuters) – Microsoft Corp. said it mostly resolved the technical issue that delayed delivery of messages in the Teams work messaging app earlier Wednesday.

The bug, caused by a possible network problem, affected users in the Americas, the company said.

“We are monitoring the service to ensure complete recovery and will take the necessary steps if the impact persists,” the software giant added.

Downdetector, an interruption detection website, found that there were more than 800 incidents of people reporting problems with Teams.

Downdetector only detects interruptions by compiling status reports from a range of sources, including user-submitted bugs on the platform. The interruption may have affected a larger number of users.

Collaboration programs such as Teams, Slack and Zoom played a critical role in managing remote work and online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Teams have about 115 million users as of October last year.
