Microsoft has started testing a Kids Mode in the Edge browser to protect children while browsing the Internet. The company, which created the mode primarily for children ages 5-12, is recommending it to Edge Insiders testers on the Dev and Canary channels.
You can enable Child Mode using the Edge profile selector and you do not have to set up a child account to enable it Windows Central point it out. Users will need to enter a password to exit the mode. You can create an “allow list” of sites that your children can access, and edit them over time. If there is a website that your children want to visit and is blocked by Microsoft technology, you can add an exception if you would like to browse it.
Kids Mode uses Bing SafeSearch with strict detection prevention features and offers personalized browser themes. Microsoft plans to continue to improve Kids Mode by adding more features.
Many other products and services offer child-friendly modes. Kids who use their computers more often while going to school, a Kids Mode in the browser will surely be welcome news for parents who want more peace of mind.
