Michelle Branch said she recently had a miscarriage.
The 37-year-old singer and songwriter revealed the sad details on Instagram with her 136,000 followers.
“Just when we took third place and were on our way home (a baseball metaphor ?! I know.), 2020 was ‘no, I’m not done yet’. December decided to really round us off right away! No, literally. “A bomb went off in downtown Nashville yesterday,” Branch began her detailed post on Saturday. “And turning a dagger further in my heart, I experienced my first miscarriage …”
Despite her tragic loss, Branch noted that she and her family were striving to try to celebrate the holiday.
‘But alas, between crying and eating Christmas cookies, I decide to put on lipstick and a dress. We drank champagne all day. Made an amazing meal and sang Christmas carols that were melted down by a roaring fire, ‘she writes with photos showing her spending time with her husband, Patrick Carney, drummer of Black Keys, and her sister Nicole and two children. .
By counting down the days to the new year, Branch said she was “limping to the finish line.”
Although, she made sure her family helped her meet the challenges through 2020.
“These people, my precious family, my husband, sister and children were the MVPs,” Branch wrote. “I could not imagine spending a year in isolation with someone else. Merry Christmas, everyone. ”
Branch is a mother of her 15-year-old daughter, Owen Isabelle Landau, whom she shares with ex-husband Teddy Landau.
In August 2018, the Grammy winner along with her husband gave birth to son Rhys James Carney.
Branch and her family live in Nashville, Tennessee, where an RV exploded Friday and injured three people.
