Michael Cudlitz on learning about Abraham’s fate

Tomorrow is the return of AMCs The Walking Dead (for AMC + subscribers, February 28 for all) for the first of six episodes to bridge seasons 10 and 11, as well as fill in some gaps in the post-Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) time jump, today seems like a good day like any other to look back at the history of the program – thanks to TWD alum and director Michael Cudlitz (Abraham Ford). From his fourth season debut to his encounter, the business end of the Savior leader Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan“Lucille,” Abraham was one of the show’s most popular and beloved characters, making his death all the more painful (and the reason so many fans want to see Cudlitz return in the upcoming anthology series, Tales of the Walking Dead).

In the seventh season opening “The day will come when you will not be” Abraham and Glenn (Steven Yeun) tasted the anger of Negan’s blunt retaliation for Rick and the gang’s failed attempt to wipe them out (and let’s not start how Norman Reedus‘Daryl caused Glenn’s death). Earlier this week, the Clarice star talked to Michael Rosenbaum as gas on his Inside Of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast and while covering a wide range of topics, the conversation naturally looked at his time on (and deviating from) the long-running series. In the next track, Cudlitz goes into an interesting depth in a comparison between the comics and television series before setting out how he first found out that Abraham was murdered. One highlight that stood out to us because we 110% agree with him? We would like to see more scenes between Abraham and Sasha Williams (Sonequa Martin-Green) – and to see how they work together during ‘All-Out War’ would have made ‘Carol-Out-of-Prison’ incredible.

Here’s your look at The Walking Dead season 10C

Some of the new faces appearing in the cast of The Walking Dead include Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Perry Mason, Scorpion) such as Mays, Hilarie Burton Morgan (One Tree Hill, White Collar, Friday Night in with the Morgans) like Lucille, Okea Eme-Akwari (Greenland, Cobra Kai), and C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders, The Hitcher) reconsider its role as a season 9 Hilltop resident. The six new episodes begin Sunday, February 28 at 9:00 PM ET / 8:00 PM CT, followed by a new episode of Talking Dead Every week.

We last saw in The Walking Dead the fall of Alpha (Samantha Morton) and the end of the Whisperers War. The Kingdom fell, Hilltop was virtually destroyed and Alexandria was abandoned to prepare for the final battle. Our survivors were trapped and separated from each other. Yet, when they faced almost a certain death, they rallied to fight, killing Beta (Ryan Hurst) and eliminating the threat of the horde.

In these six new episodes, we find that our survivors are trying to recharge themselves after the destruction left behind by the Whisperers. The years of struggle weigh on them as the previous traumas emerge and expose their more vulnerable sides. Will they find the inner strength to persevere with their lives, friendships and group intact if they question the state of humanity, the state of their collective community and the states of mind?

EPISODE 1017 – “Home Sweet Home”: Maggie (Lauren Cohan) is back with a story she’s not ready to share, even if her past catches up with her. Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) safety is at stake again. Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Maggie fights an unseen and unknown threat. Director: David Boyd / Authors: Kevin Deiboldt & Corey Reed.
