Michael Brockers shoots at JJ Watt

Los Angeles Rams defensive line Michael Brockers feels confident the team does not need new Arizona Cardinals JJ Watt.

Brockers fired a benevolent shot at Watt on Saturday, telling TMZ: “We all know who the real 9-9 is.”

It would be Rams linebacker Aaron Donald, who carries the same number as Watt. While Brockers does not have to throw Watt, Brockers is not wrong. Over his career, Donald averaged 12.2 bags per season. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his seven seasons and made the All-Pro team six consecutive years. He has won three of the last four AP Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Watt was hardly a slacker over his career. He has made the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams five times already, and he has also won three AP Defensive Player of the Year awards, the most recent of which was in 2015. Although he is two years older, Watt has remained effective as he is on the field. Injuries were a problem, however, as Watt has only played 16 games twice in the past five seasons. Donald has only missed two games his entire career.

Brockers also took some time to celebrate the acquisition of Matthew Stafford. Brockers calls Stafford a ‘level up’ against the team’s previous quarter, former no. 1 about the Jared Goff.

The move cost the Rams a lot. The team conceded two picks for Stafford in the first round and a third round. Last season, Stafford hit 4,084 yards and 26 touchdowns in 4 games. In comparison, Goff threw in 15 games for 3,952 yards and 20 touchdowns.
