Metro Exodus announces full version of a computer-enhanced computer

One of the benefits of Metro Exodus in escaping the dark underground tunnels of its predecessors was getting a glimpse of how deliciously dead-free it can look. 4A Games plans to upgrade their apocalypse FPS even further in the spring. The PC-enhanced version will further deceive Exodus’ footage and lighting with extensive radiation-tracking features and higher-resolution textures and other goodies. All the better to see those approaching bad and icy, reflective farms.

4A Games explains that the PC-enhanced edition requires a GPU with detection of rays as the minimum system specifications. According to them, the improved edition explains that it will be released as its own product instead of a patch for Exodus. You will be able to grab it for free if you already own a copy of Exodus on a computer.

Here’s a little bit of the technological conversation for you, in 4A’s words.

“We have built a brand new pipeline with complete track of the track offering a number of optimizations, upgrades and new features in the Ray Traced Global Illumination and Emissive Lighting, which we did pioneering work with the original version of Metro Exodus, as well as an upgraded implementation of our powerful Temporal Reconstruction technology to further increase resolution, visual detail and performance, and we’ve pushed these improvements to the limit using NVIDIA and AMD’s latest Ray Tracing-capable GPU hardware , the ultimate version for our computer lovers. ”

The PC-enhanced edition sets Exodus’ lighting by tracking every light source in the game, says 4A. There is a long list of other upgrades, such as support for DLSS 2.0 and 4K resolution textures. You can find the full list of features on their announcement post.

4A says that the expansion of the Metro Exodus PC on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store will be free for current Exodus owners sometime this spring.

Looking at the future of Metro, 4A mentioned earlier that they are working on the next Metro game and experimenting with multiplayer components that they would always like to follow with the series.
