Melissa McCarthy sports blonde wig with her husband, Ben Falcone, on the set of Netflix’s God’s favorite idiot

Melissa McCarthy has lived with her family in Australia since filming Nicole Kidman’s Hulu mini series Nine Perfect Strangers in New South Wales in 2020.

She and her husband, Falcone, revealed in February that they had chosen to extend their stay Down Under to record the Netflix series God’s Favorite Idiot in the Country.

The Hollywood couple filmed scenes on Wednesday for the upcoming comedy in Lismore, 45 km west of Byron Bay.

God’s Favorite Idiot is a workplace comedy about a middle-class technical support worker Clark Thompson (Falcone) who falls in love with co-worker Amily Luck (McCarthy) at the exact same time he becomes the unconscious messenger of God.

The Bridesmaid star (50) looked almost unrecognizable in a blonde wig as she prepared for scenes in a lush garden.

Despite the warmer summer temperatures in Australia, Melissa is wearing a burgundy trench coat.

For the scene, she also wore black trousers with a pattern-clashing pussy bow blouse.

Melissa’s character apparently wears glasses, while the actress has a stylish, square lens frame called ‘action’.

Her husband, Ben Falcone, 47, was next to her for the scene, dressed in beige chinos and a checkered button.

Earlier this month, Melissa filmed scenes for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder in Sydney’s Little Bay.

Melissa (50) was seen giggling as she played a big green header to turn into Hela, originally played by Cate Blanchett in Thor: Ragnarok, but she did not replace Cate, but rather played Fake Hela.

She apparently got the role after making a hilarious Instagram audition band with her husband Ben Falcone on Christmas Day.

“Melissa and I are desperate to be in the movie Thor: Love and Thunder,” Ben begins, as the couple insists they will be wonderful ‘local tenants’, as they are based in Byron Bay. Thor is Chris Hemsworth’s hometown.
