Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, criticized the restrictions she had when she was a working member of the British royal family, saying it was ‘liberating’ to be able to agree to a interview with media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
In the latest preview track ahead of the long-awaited interview, Winfrey said she first approached Meghan for a seat before her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. But Meghan dismissed her, saying “maybe there will be another time.”
Asked what was “right” about this moment to talk, Meghan said, “Well, so many things,” adding that the couple “was on the other side of many … many life experiences that happened.”
“We have the ability to make our own choices in a way that I would not be able to say yes to then,” Meghan said in the excerpt of almost 2 minutes of the interview, which airs on CBS on Sunday night. “It was not my choice.”
‘As an adult who has lived a truly independent life to then go to this construct that is different from what I think people think, it’s really liberating to have in some ways the right and the privilege to be able to to say yes, ‘she added.

The clip was released a day after seeing another 30-minute excerpt from the show, Meghan accused the royal family of “lying” about the couple.
Buckingham Palace did not comment on one of the latest preview tracks.
The palace said on Wednesday it would launch an internal investigation into allegations of bullying against Meghan published by a British newspaper.
“We are clearly very concerned about the allegations,” the Palace statement read, referring to the report in The Times, which cited anonymous sources and details that were not independently verified by NBC News.
A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said on the allegations’ the Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character. ‘
The Sussexes finalized their separation from the royal family last month, a year after ‘retiring’ from public service.
The couple announced on Valentine’s Day that they were expecting their second child, months after Meghan revealed she had a miscarriage.
The Winfrey interview is an opportunity for the couple to speak candidly about their reasons for breaking up with the family.
“If it’s associated with the risks of losing things,” Meghan said in Thursday’s teaser clip: “I mean, there’s been a lot that was lost.”
