Meghan Markle will probably never return to the UK, says author: ‘People in Britain feel betrayed by her’

EXCLUSIVE: One royal writer does not expect Meghan Markle to visit the UK again anytime soon.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex resigned from royal duties last year and moved to California, saying they wanted to escape the racist coverage and unwanted invasion of their privacy by the British media.

Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, is expected to reunite with his older brother, Prince William, at Kensington Palace for the 60th birthday of their mother, Princess Diana. The statue of the late princess was commissioned by the brothers in 2017 and will be unveiled on July 1st.

“Will Meghan Markle return to the UK? My speculative answer will be no, not if she can help it,” Royal Writer Anna Pasternak told Fox News.

“Unfortunately, I can not see her ever becoming a beloved and cherished member of the royal family with the united respect and worship of the British people,” Pasternak shared. “I think that ship sailed.”

Pasternak had previously written about the other American divorcee who was married to a royal for a book entitled “The Real Wales Simpson.” The British author traced Simpson’s last remaining intimate friendship that sought to set the record of her controversial life.

Pasternak said she was not surprised by the recent setback the former “Suits” star has experienced in the UK

On March 7, CBS aired a two-hour interview that the couple did with Oprah Winfrey. The Duke of Sussex (36) revealed during the television output that his relationship with his father Prince Charles (72) and older brother William (38) had broken down.

Markle describes her as so isolated and miserable within the royal family that she had suicidal thoughts. When she asked for staff help at the mental health palace, Markle was told they could not help because she was not a paid employee. The Duchess of Sussex also claims that a member of the royal family has ‘concerns’ about the color of the skin of her unborn child.

The family member, according to Harry, was not Queen Elizabeth II (94) or Prince Philip (99), which sparked a wave of speculation about who it could be.

Harry also told the media magnate (67) that the royal family cut him off financially at the beginning of 2020 after he planned to resign from his roles. But he was able to afford security for his family because of the money Diana left behind.

“Many people feel that the interview was a total lack of respect for the monarchy and in a sense also for the British,” Pasternak explained. “Because the monarchy is part of the British psyche. This monarchy bashing can therefore also be seen as British bashing. And from personal knowledge it is understood that Prince Charles, Prince William, Duchess Kate Middleton and the Queen – they were just like that shocked and saddened by [the allegations]. “

According to Pasternak, despite the ruthless British tabloids directed at Markle during her relationship with Harry, the British people were eager to embrace the television star. In the early days of their marriage, the couple was seen as the fresh young face of the monarchy for an increasingly multicultural nation.

“We absolutely embraced her,” said Pasternak. “We adopted this amazing wedding. We were delighted with the ‘Markle Sparkle’. And we were delighted with Harry, who was in a way the son of our country. We all saw him walk behind his mother’s coffin and our hearts sent him out.

“We loved Harry and we were very happy for him when he found this beautiful American actress for a wife. We really were. But they did not stay long enough and went into this self-imposed exile. Not only that. , but they too criticized the whole thing, which felt as if they were throwing it in our faces again. ‘

“In the beginning, we really went to Meghan because she was not an aristocrat,” Pasternak continued. “She was actually this very ambitious, wonderful woman. So I think in many ways a lot of people in Britain feel betrayed by her.”

During the interview, Harry told Winfrey he felt his family did not support Markle, who admitted her naivety about royal life before marrying the prince as she endured media attacks and false stories.

In response to a question from Winfrey, Harry said he would not have left royal life if he had not married Markle. Their relationship, however, revealed the austerity of royal life.

Markle also admitted that she was naive about the basic rules of royal life before marrying her husband almost three years ago.

“I did not quite understand what the job was,” Markle said. “I would say I went naive about it because I did not know much about the royal family. It was not something that was part of the conversations at home. It was not something we followed.”

Pasternak said she believes Markle really has no idea what she was getting into by joining the royal family.

“No one is going to shake up Windsor’s house completely,” Pasternak said. “It’s just not going to happen, just because it’s endured for so long, it’s actually because very little has changed. Powerful women who get married in Windsor’s house are not doing well. If they’re emotional and talk, they talk “It’s definitely not going well. It’s those who are stoic, go on with their heads and do their duty like Kate and Camilla who endure it.”

“Look at Camilla, who at one point had the worst press ever,” Pasternak shared. ‘She has never spoken out and put first duty when she joined the family. Since then, she has achieved this national treasure status through the people … The one thing you can not do as a member of the royal family is to have an opinion. You need to stay impartial, apolitical and just smile. In many ways, Meghan was too bright for it and too animated and sharp. “

According to Pasternak, the biggest mistake one can make when joining ‘The Firm’ is to confuse celebrity with royalty.

“Joining the family has many limitations that Meghan clearly did not want,” she said. “You can not confuse celebrities with royalty. Duty always comes first.”

When asked what she believes the future holds for the couple, Pasternak answers: “This is the million-dollar question.”

“I can see Meghan being supported by powerful people and finally trying to have a political office,” she said. “I think she has an ambition that knows no bounds. So I would not be so surprised if it is part of her agenda. All power to her, if that is what she really wants.”
