On Saturday, one day after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, Buckingham Palace officials announced that a private funeral would be held on April 17 in Windsor Castle.
According to the palace, Philip participated in the planning of his funeral and the focus on family was in line with his wishes. The 99-year-old Duke died at the age of 99.
Prince Harry, who resigned from royal duties last year and now lives in California, will attend the service with other members of the royal family. His wife, Meghan Markle, who is pregnant, was advised by her doctor not to attend.
