Buckingham Palace is considering appointing a head of diversity after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombing of Oprah Winfrey, Fox News has learned.
The news comes weeks after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the media magnate that a member of the royal family was worried about the color of their son Archie’s skin before he was born.
The family member, according to Harry, was not Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Philip, which sparked a wave of speculation about who it might be.
A Palace source told Fox News on Monday that they were “listening and learning to get it right.”

“Diversity is an issue that is taken very seriously in the royal households,” the informant explained. “We have the policies, procedures and programs in place, but we do not see the progress we want in terms of representation and more needs to be done, we can always improve. The work to do this has been going on for some time. time is running. now and come with the full support of the family. ‘
The source added that it was still too early to announce any official roles.

Markle, who is biracial, also described that she was so isolated and miserable within the royal family that she had suicidal thoughts. The former television star also said she had sought help for mental health from the palace’s human resources department, but was told she could do nothing.
Two days after the tell-it-all, Charles, 72, retired to visit a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in London. The Prince of Wales was asked for his response to the shocking conversation by reporters, but remained silent.
A representative for Charles did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
Shortly after the interview, William defends the monarchy by saying that they ‘are not very much a racist family’. The 38-year-old’s comments were made during a visit to an East London School.

The Duke of Cambridge, who is second on the throne after Charles, said he had not yet spoken to Harry in the aftermath of the interview.
“But I will do it,” he remarked.
Harry told Winfrey the royal family cut him off financially in early 2020 after he planned to step down from his roles. But he was able to afford security for his family because of the money left behind by his late mother, Princess Diana.
He disputes rumors that he deliberately blinded the queen (94) to his decision to split. He suspects the rumors are coming from the institution.

Thirty-six hours after the interview aired in the U.S., Buckingham Palace issued a statement.
“The whole family is sad to know how challenging Harry and Meghan have been over the past few years,” a statement from the palace told Fox News. “The issues, especially the race, are relevant. Some memories may differ, but they are taken very seriously and will be addressed privately by the family.”
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very close family members,” the statement concluded.

The interview was watched by nearly 50 million people worldwide.
After Harry and Markle got married in May 2018 in Windsor Castle, the royal family seemed to welcome the Duchess of Sussex, a glamorous former TV star. The pair are seen as a fresh young face for the monarchy of an increasingly multicultural nation.
The couple resigned from royal duties last year and eventually settled in California, saying they wanted to escape the racist coverage and unwanted invasion of their privacy by the British media.
