Meghan Markle as president? And other shipments from the fallout from the British Oprah interview

Some of the allegations that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made during their interview with Oprah Winfrey last week are singled out by the British media, even though Fleet Street is still leaning in rumors and gossiping about the international couple.

The Daily Mail has dedicated a long stretch to disputing false or misleading allegations from the interview – and then separately predicts that the Duchess of Sussex would elect the US president in 2024, citing an unnamed British Labor Party official.

Allegedly, she is ‘networking’ with ‘senior Democrats’ over a presidential fundraising plan.

“The Blairist, Internationalist and Democratic Party networks are buzzing with talks about Meghan’s political ambitions and potential supporters,” the source said.

Other critics and outlets have also investigated the allegations the couple made during the interview, which aired last week.

“I do not believe a word she says,” former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan said of Meghan on Monday, a day before stepping down from his own show. He stopped hours later.

First, there is a dispute over who made the cry between Markle and Kate Middleton, her sister-in-law, cry before the first marriage to Harry.

The couple told Winfrey that it was Meghan who was brought to tears.

But the Times of London reported the opposite – so far Meghan slammed the door in Kate’s face as the latter tried to smooth things over.

The couple also told Winfrey that their son, Archie, was strung out of a royal title. However, according to a report in the Guardian, this is not the case – he is simply not eligible for a long-term policy. But it will apparently be when his grandfather, Prince Charles, takes the throne.

In the US, the Founding Fathers explicitly prohibited the government from conferring titles of nobility under Article I of the Constitution. And the same clause would mean that Meghan would probably have to deny her “Duchess” title if she were actually eligible for the presidency, unless Congress grants an exception.

And as for the couple’s top secret wedding before their $ 1 million television relationship – it was just a ‘rehearsal’, according to the Daily Mail.

Meghan’s half sister, Samantha Markle, disputes the claim that the two have not seen each other for almost twenty years, by sharing a photo of them together – from 2008.

Meanwhile, Harry expressed his concern that the media’s fixation in his personal life could lead to tragedy. His mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997 while being chased by paparazzi.

An American lawyer representing some of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims also accuses the Royal Palace of using the Harry and Meghan drama to pay attention to Prince Andrew.
