Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s popularity took a nose in Britain after their all-in-one interview with Oprah Winfrey, a new poll found Friday.
During the explosive sit-in, the couple made allegations of racism against the royal family, claiming that Markle’s pleas for help were ignored after she became suicidal.
According to the new YouGov poll (via Reuters), Harry’s popularity dropped by 15 points from a week before the interview. Forty-eight percent of the 1664 participants had a ‘negative attitude’ towards Harry.
The poll also found that only three out of ten people had a “positive view” of Markle after the interview. An overwhelming 58 percent had a ‘negative opinion’ of the former ‘Suits’ star.
The new opinions about the couple – who are expecting a daughter – come after their conversation with headlines, in which they accused the royal family of having a dark face of Archie’s son when he was born. Markle also claimed that ‘The Firm’ did not protect her because they said they would, and left her for a false narrative that she made her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, cry before her marriage Harry in May 2018.
Markle also revealed that she committed suicide while pregnant with Archie, but that the royal institution refused to help her when she reached out.
Harry’s father, Prince Charles, also saw a decline in his popularity in the poll, as 42 per cent of people said they had a ‘negative view’ of him.
During the interview, Harry reveals that his father has not taken calls to Megxit for a while. He also said he tried to help his brother, Prince William, see the ‘toxic’ ways of the royal family’s lifestyle, but he did not succeed.
But Page Six exclusively reported on Thursday that Harry and William had opened “communication channels” after the interview.
