NACC will work with Congresswoman Lee for referrals to homes to be rebuilt from online submissions via the Helping Houston Rebuild official website. Houston residents will receive help based on critical need and a lottery. Public adjusters will assess damages and licensed professionals will evaluate plumbing, electrical and structural repairs to walls, floors and other damage, while volunteers remove water-recorded materials.

Houston co-rapper Travis Scott has also taken action following the state’s historic winter disaster. His Cactus Jack Foundation has launched an emergency food program to provide 50,000 hot meals to people with the help of the City of Houston and the Houston Health Foundation. NACC, The Black Service Chamber and restaurant owners have helped Scott and his foundation identify the most vulnerable groups of people in need.
