The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s draw rose to $ 82 million with a cash option of $ 59.9 million.
The winning numbers were: 5, 14, 24, 25 and 27. The Mega Ball that was drawn was 14 with a megaplier of 3X.
While no one across the country won Tuesday’s $ 68 million jackpot, a second-prize ticket sold in Oklahoma matched five numbers, but not the Mega Ball. It’s worth $ 4 million instead of the usual $ 1 million, as the winner spent an extra $ 1 on the Megaplier option
In New Jersey, 28 tickets matched four numbers, lottery officials said. Two were purchased with the Megaplier option and are valued at $ 2,000 each. The others are worth $ 500 each.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 7, 18, 21, 31 and 40. The Mega Ball was drawn 9 with a Megaplier of 4X.
Mega Millions tickets cost $ 2 each and in New Jersey must be purchased on the night of the drawing at 10:45 p.m. The chance that a ticket can hit the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball is 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12 607 306 chance of winning the second prize of at least $ 1 million by five numbers fit.
The game is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.
