Meet police officer arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with disappearance of Sarah Everard

The 33-year-old, a marketing director, was last seen on a doorbell on Wednesday, March 3, as he walked through Clapham to her home in Brixton, south London, after visiting a friend in Clapham.

According to Met police, a serving officer has been arrested in connection with the murder of Everard. They also said they received more than 120 calls from the public and visited 750 homes in the area as part of the investigation.

The officer, who was not named but is believed to be in his forties, was originally arrested on Tuesday at an address in Kent on suspicion of kidnapping. . Neighbors of the Met officer reported that they had removed a car and claimed to have seen police officers digging up the garden.

About the officer in question, the Met said in a statement: “His primary role was uniformed patrol duties of diplomatic premises.”
