Medical students undergoing GNPR evacuation against COVID-19

FUERTE BUCHANAN – The Ayudante Generaal de Puerto Rico, Generaal de División José J. Reyes, informs that 120 students of tertiary and quarto years of medicine of various universities of the country are integrating the mercoles and the efforts of the National Guard in the process of evacuation against the COVID-19.

“These medical students are volunteers and will be strengthening this evacuation process in the Pedrín Zorrilla and in the other centers of the National Guard that are close to opening,” said Reyes.

The same is charged by Professor Angel Martinez of the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine.

This group of students is from the Central University of the Caribbean in Bayamón, the Recinto de Ciencias Médicas de la UPR, de la Escuela de Medicina San Juan Bautista en Caguas y de la Escuela de Medicina en Ponce.

“Since we initiated the evacuation last week at the Pedrín Zorrilla College, we have been making adjustments to the dynamics of the process. Always have the opportunity to improve and as long as we are active. Compare it with the support of these new professionals of salute our line of organs and it is one of the many steps that we have given to improve ”, Reyes indicates.

The General Auditor also informs that these schools will be affiliated with the regional evacuation center at the Bellas Arts Center of Caguas, which will increase the number of evacuation professionals.

Formerly informed that for the Pedrín Zorrilla College in Hato Rey, a plan has been drawn up on which the professionals from the municipalities of Canóvanas, Carolina, Guaynabo, Loíza, San Juan and Trujillo Alto are living.

“This is the plan we are following in the footsteps of Pedrín Zorrilla. The opening of the Caguas Center, as well as other project centers, will attract the influx of people to evacuate Hato Rey, ”said Reyes.

On the other hand, in the Coliseo Pedrín Zorrilla, there are 600 diaries, a process that starts at 7:00 of the month.

From 5:30 onwards, vehicles will be parked in the parking lot by order of duty, the temperature will be maintained, the opening hours will be displayed and the register of the persons will be vacated.

Once the maximum capacity has been set, the access gates to the Coliseo Pedrín Zorrilla will be closed. The baths and dominoes alone are attended by medics and dentists.

Other nearby GNPR evacuation centers are projected to open in Ponce, Mayagüez, Humacao, Fajardo, Aguadilla, Bayamón, Barranquitas, Vieques and Culebra.

Until Sunday, December 27, 3,216 health professionals were evacuated from the COVID-19 at the Coliseo Pedrín Zorrilla.
