MDH: 2 new COVID-related deaths, 611 newly reported cases

Of the 611 newly reported cases, 58 of them are marked as probable cases according to MDH. A total of 21,861 probable cases have been reported since antigen testing began in September.

So far, 6,378 people have died from the coronavirus in Minnesota. Of the deaths, 265 are listed as probable COVID-19 deaths. Of the total deaths reported Monday, 4,016 occurred in long-term care facilities.

To date, 25,197 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized in Minnesota and 5,197 patients have been in the ICU.

According to MDH, the new positive COVID-19 cases in Minnesota reported Monday have shifted the total from the state to 474,169 since the recording of the pandemic began. A total of 460,537 patients have recovered or are recovering and no longer need isolation.

As of Monday, approximately 6.99 million COVID-19 tests had been completed in Minnesota.

About 61.1 million people worldwide recovered as of Monday.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report loss of smell and / or taste and muscle aches, headaches, sore throats and / or chills.
