McDonald’s sells chicken hoodies for $ 5

McDonald’s will sell a limited number of $ 5 swag packages through a special website on Thursday. The swag features a hoodie, a custom song and of course a first taste of the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It’s all aimed at revamping excitement and online buzz for an everyday menu.

“We are excited to give fans early access to this sandwich and exclusive exchange so they can come nowhere else to commemorate this amazing addition to our menu,” said David Tovar, vice president of U.S. communications for McDonald’s, press release said.

The most striking item of the swag is probably a hoodie with a picture of McDonald’s new Crispy Chicken Sandwich with the slogan “crispyjuicytender.” The gift box also contains a vinyl recording of a song about music producer Tay Keith’s sandwich, and gift card recipients can use it to use the sandwich at restaurants one day before the official release.

McDonald’s (MCD) recently sold merchandise associated with their food, including projects with musicians Travis Scott and J. Balvin. According to online marketplace StockX, Scott’s fashion partnership with the chain sold for as much as hundreds of dollars more than was originally priced on the resale market.
Fast food chains often sell more than food, such as clothing and experiences, to be lazy. Chipotle (CMG) Taco Bell started selling a hotel in Palm Springs in 2019, and KFC often puts out weird items like nail polish and a match.

McDonald's new Deluxe Chicken Sandwich goes on sale next week.

McDonald’s new chicken sandwiches go on sale in the United States next Wednesday. It comes in three versions, including a crispy chicken sandwich topped with pickles and served on a potato roll, a spicy chicken sandwich that adds a spicy pepper sauce and a luxurious chicken sandwich that salads, contains tomatoes and mayonnaise.

The chain teased a new choice of sandwiches on Investor’s Day in November, with Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s, explaining that chicken is a good choice for the company.

“Globally, the chicken category is almost twice as big as beef,” he said at the time. “It’s growing faster and represents an important opportunity,” he said. “Developing a reputation for big chicken is one of our biggest aspirations. We want customers to choose McDonald’s for chicken.”

McDonald’s competitors, including Wendy’s, Shake Shack and KFC, all recently released new sandwiches in response to Popeye’s 2019 release that caused the chicken to collide.
